As part of the Five-Year Plan for the Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council for the period 2012-2016, the Council will be focusing on the five goals and respective objectives contained in the Plan. The Council has created committees to help address some of these areas.
Committees currently in place are: Executive, Multicultural, Planning and Grants, Legislative and Public Policy, and an ad hoc Autism. The committees' chairpersons are Council members, but community members who are not Council members are invited and welcomed to join a committee.

Legislative and Public Policy Committee
During the months the legislature is not in session, the Legislative and Public Policy Committee will meet at the State Capitol monthly on the first Monday of each month, from June to December 2013.
During the legislative session the Committee meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday
in Room 356 at the State Capitol from 11:00 AM to 1 PM, unless otherwise noted.

The Multicultural Committee meets on the 1st Tuesday of every third month, beginning in March 2013, from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. Beginning in January 2013, the Multicultural Committee meets every third month with the Planning and Grants Committee. All meetings are at the Council office, 1120 Lincoln, Suite 706, Denver, CO 80203.
Beginning in February 2013, the Multicultural Committee meets every third month with the Legislative and Public Policy Committee at the State Capitol.

ad hoc CO-CANDO Committee
The Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council created its ad hoc Autism Committee on September 22, 2010, in response to a Senate Joint Resolution (SJR10-027) and a recommendation from its Legislative & Public Policy Committee that the Council oversee the implementation of the recommendations of the Colorado Autism Commission. The committee has been renamed as CO-CANDO (Colorado Collaborative for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Options). The CANDO website offers current information about CO-CANDO, its work and outcomes.
