There are many opportunities for the citizens of Colorado to join the Council on advocacy and systems change efforts.

The Council seeks applications for membership throughout the year from interested citizens. Appointments by the Governor are generally made effective on July 1st of each year, but can be made at any time when a Council member resigns their position. As of April 2023- we are currently seeking membership in the following roles:

1. Three (3) Parent/Guardian/ family member positions.

2. Two (2) Person with DD positions.

Other ways to be involved:

Committees--the majority of the Council's work is accomplished through its committees.

Action Alerts--provide an opportunity for the citizens of Colorado to provide input to their state and federal legislators on issues of importance to the disability community and family members.
